NV2 Workshop Schedule

NV2 workshops are held at Q.W. Page's office in Markham, Ontario (Toronto). We have a modern, fully equipped classroom capable of accommodating as many as nine students per session.

Each student will have their own desk and computer, and with a small class size our instructors are able to deliver maximum learning value.

Access by car is convenient and there is ample free parking.

Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and run until 5:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

NV1 Conversion

The one day NV1 conversion workshop begins with an overview of NV2, paying careful attention to the differences between versions. You will learn how to install NV2 and how to convert your books. The new lists of different types of accounts and transactions are highlighted, and you will see how to use NV2 without the need to run procedures.

All topics relating to a smooth and seamless conversion will be reviewed.

You are encouraged to bring your own books. You will learn how to mark NV1 accounts by their different types, how to export NV1 and how to import into NV2. Backing up your books and the new NV2 window system will be covered.

Basic Workshop

The two day Basic workshop is designed to get an NV2 user up and running as quickly and easily as possible. As the name suggests, it covers all introductory topics, including installation and setup, and the core day to day accounting operations.

You will learn how to operate NV2, how to navigate windows on a database, and how to find data in an instant.

Accounting topics covered include how to create reports, create and maintain accounts, enter transactions of various types, print invoices, statements and checks, and more.

We expect many of the early classes will be populated by NV1 users who have converted to NV2, and we will make an effort to steer users with similar backgrounds and interests into the same class (e.g. non-profits). NV1 users are strongly encouraged to attend the NV1 Conversion Workshop as a prerequisite.

New User Basic Workshop

The three day New User Basic workshop is designed to get a new Newviews user up and running as quickly and easily as possible. As the name suggests, it covers all introductory topics, including installation and setup, and the core day to day accounting operations.

You will learn how to operate Newviews, how to navigate windows on a database, and how to find data in an instant.

You will learn the core Newviews concepts, document hierarchy, general ledger design, account linking, etc..

Accounting topics covered include how to create reports, create and maintain accounts, enter transactions of various types, print invoices, statements and checks, and more.

Intermediate / Advanced Workshop

The three day intermediate / advanced workshop builds on the BASIC Workshop, and participants will be required to attend the BASIC Workshop as a prerequisite.

This workshop should be attended by senior bookkeepers/accountants, and/or the person who will serve as the NV2 administrator. Topics covered include basic multi-user setup, internal controls, auditing, budgeting, purchase and sales order entry, inventory, bank and credit card reconciliation, customizing printing templates, exploiting Microsoft Excel, importing/exporting, mail merge, email, safeguarding databases, and more.

Refresher Course * NEW

Q.W. Page NV2 training workshops recently passed the 1,000 user milestone. Customer feedback was invaluable, and along the way the curriculum evolved, resulting in first rate training programs.

Payroll Workshop

The one day payroll workshop builds on the BASIC Workshop, and participants will be strongly encouraged to attend the BASIC Workshop as a prerequisite. NV1 users will recognize the same power and flexibility of NV1 payroll but should be pleased by the completely new, streamlined look and feel of NV2 payroll. You will learn how to create and manage employees of any type, process payroll transactions, edit check printing templates, print pay checks, track and remit payroll deductions, and more.

We expect many of the early classes will be populated by NV1 users who have converted to NV2, and we will make an effort to steer users with similar backgrounds and interests into the same class (e.g. non-profits). NV1 users are strongly encouraged to attend the BASIC Workshop as a prerequisite.
